WhenPlant is designed to collect as little as possible.

ZIP codes

When you enter a ZIP code, it is sent to phzmapi.org to look up your hardiness zone, and stored only in your own browser (localStorage) so the tool can remember it next time. We do not store your ZIP on our servers or tie it to your identity.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) to understand which pages are useful, in aggregate. These do not identify you personally.

Some links to garden supplies go to Amazon and carry an affiliate tag. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may set its own cookies when you visit their site.
